Your Atlanta Super Con Experience

All of you who went to Atlanta Super Con can post about your experience. I guess I'll start.

"Molotov" (Lucy) and myself became Doc and James' babysitters for the weekend (Which we found out was our job last minute) which was pretty awesome and paid off! We found out TWO spoilers for the new season 4. And we are NOT telling.

We played as the Venture "Sisters" which got a pretty good reaction. Even Doc liked the idea. I bet you can't guess who was who right?

The con was nice and small which I am sure eveyrone appreciated because they didn't have to run around like chickens with their heads cut off. They could be a little more relaxed. AND unlike Dragon*con, you could be more personalized with the guests.

Brian O'Hallaron (Dante Hicks from Clerks) is my new best best friend. We were brought together by Irish blood. And Claddagh rings! We are the Irish Wonder Twins!

I am officially Doc Hammer's Jonas Junior. Seriously. Right down to the Cheese, the Ears and now... Hotelbow. Def. Hotelbow: noun; A condition in which there is an inflamation or irririation resulting in a rash, (usually the elbow or lower arm) due to hotel detergents used to clean the bed sheets. Fairly common.
(I guess in 1978... I crawled out of his bottom?)

James Urbaniak was amazing. He seems so serious in many of his LJ posts and yet. He can honestly cut up with the best of them. He is also a warehouse of trivia. AND has never had a Rob Roy. So, I decided to be the poison tester. yeah... Tastes like Rubbing Alcohol. And then we got to watch the episode that he commentaried with "I'll have a Rob Roy" And of course, I got asked what it was like. Thanks James...

Carry/Dana/Jay/And Croker (I love that last name) Were so awesome! We all cut up and even had Carry walk us to the corner before we got on Marta! Dana had to leave early Sunday, however due to a personal emergency. (No, I have no idea what)

Samantha Newark (Jem and the Holograms) Was so gorgeous! I mean HOLY CRAP she is not only talented but so pretty! And as sweet and sugar covered.... sugar... ehem...

Larry Kenney (Lion-o) dropped the F bomb at his table and I just went. "Well, there went my childhood". LOL.

At this time, I would like to thank, James, Doc, Croker, Dana, Carry, Jay, Samantha, Larry and my personal friends Mike Broder, Ann-Marie, Jennifer and Lucy for helping this to be one of my ALL TIME favorite conventions!

Doc loved it and said it is SO going into Astro Base. James saw the production stages. And John looks like he is going to be pee pee scared.

I had a good time too. James was quieter than I imagined. And I tell you, he rivals Doc for style. His style is different, but completely his own. I was also amazed by all the talented Venture Bros fans attending. Aside from the John the painter, you had the artist for the Dark Crystal books. Her and I were both rocking 24 shirt club shirts on Sunday.

They did. And Doc's advice (paraphrased): Shop everyday and only buy the best. Too often, people only buy when they need and then they're rushing around and taking what will do.

Time for my two cent's worth...that's me in the "Go Team Venture" pic with James (under my other name, "Fray"). Notice that there was only one picture that I was able to get. Yep, crestfallen, to say the least. I did; however, get my Weep CD signed, and I managed NOT to throw up on my feet when I got to chat with Doc for a few seconds or make a total fool of myself, so I'd say that went well.

As for the super-rad plaid suit, I think it came from some vintage store in NYC. No one, and I do mean NO ONE, else could ever pull that off. And the shopping advice was spot-on, DRD. Fabric, fit, and cut. I totally want to do a fashion panel with him. Together we could rule the galaxy!

General feedback:
This was such a nice small con where you could just sit down and talk to the guests. Take that Miller Lite pic of James, for example. The only celebrities in that room were Carey Means (Frylock) and James. We were just chatting it up like it was a normal everyday experience. Brian O'Halloran is such a nice guy as are ALL the ATHF guys. Jay Edwards went from just "cute" to "super-hot" in about 2 seconds when he showed us that bitchin' Frankenstein tattoo ! Not sure if we got a pic of that one. It certainly felt the way that Dragon Con used to feel 10 years ago before it blew up. Saturday night was too much fun hanging out and playing Rockband until 2am!

Hah! I can tell where you sat seeing as how Photognome's head and my head were in the way.

I had a great time at the con, myself, and I got a lot of very useful information from the 70/30 guys and Doc. And James even mentioned me during the panel (when he was talking about the warm freezer pop). Plus I got to hang out with the 70/30 animators for like 2 hours, which was awesome.

And Carey...Carey is crazy as hell.

I really don't think anyone got the freezer pops concept without me having to explain it. I was going to leave them all at the con until I realized they only had 25 calories. Doc did say that the unfrozen freezer pop is something that happened to him as a kid, when an uncle (I think he said) gave him one that way one time. For some reason, the image stuck with him.
